Rechargeable batteries AA are probably the most commonly used battery. These AA batteries, also called penlight or LR6, are commonly found in Walkmans, MP3 players and power guzzlers such as children’s toys and in digital photo cameras. But they are also regularly found in remote controls.
Because it is used so much, it is so important for this battery that it lasts as long as possible. That is why this rechargeable battery, together with the AAA, has been most developed in terms of capacity, because the higher the capacity the longer it lasts!

This rechargeable battery also pays for itself after charging only 3 times. Don’t forget that it will last for years, because it can be charged up to 1000 times! Once again proof that a rechargeable battery are cheap.
One more challenge to go
There is one more challenge and that is the problem that the standard version of the NIMH rechargeable batteries suffer from self-discharge.
The battery slowly loses its charge (± 20% first month). So you cannot charge batteries in advance and leave them for when you need them in months. Chances are they are already (a little) empty when you need them.
Always ready
With the arrival of these Always Ready rechargeable AA batteries, that has also been solved. These batteries have the great advantage that the capacity decreases very slowly.
After six months only 10% has been lost, after one year only 15%, making them very suitable for purposes that do not use much electricity. Disadvantage, the capacity is lower.
